Spotlight newsroom: Huffington Post
It's finally time to shine the Muck Rack limelight on the Huffington Post, everyone's favorite online news aggregator and news site founded by Arianna Huffington, Kenneth Lerer, Andrew Breitbart, and Jonah Peretti. Originally founded in 2005 as a liberal alternative to sites like the Drudge Report, in 2012 HuffPo became the "first commercially run United States digital media enterprise" to get a Pulitzer. Not too shabby. The most highly followed journalist there is, of course, Arianna Huffington, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief, followed by Mehdi Hasan, Political Director, UK; Sam Stein, Senior Politics Editor and White House Correspondent; Howard Fineman, Editorial Director; Ryan J. Reilly, Justice Reporter; and last but not least, Kate Sheppard, Senior Reporter and Energy and Environment Editor.
Meanwhile, HuffPost's most active journalist on Twitter at the moment is Asa Bennett, Business Reporter, UK, while its highest trending article this morning is "Occupy Wall Street Buys, Then Cancels, Student Debt" (7,346 shares) by Chief Financial and Regulatory Correspondent Shahien Nasiripour.
