Mashable names first additions to London office

In preparation for Mashable's expansion plans into the United Kingdom next month, Blathnaid Healy has been named editor and Tim Chester named deputy editor for the London office.

Most recently Chief Operations Office for WorldIrish.com, Healy has also served as a multimedia news journalist for Ireland’s largest media organization RTÉ in the past.

"I'm very excited to be joining @Mashable as its UK Editor!" Healy tweeted.m"Thanks for all the good wishes! Can't wait to get started with @mashable next month!"

Meanwhile, Chester joins from Rough Guides, a travel website he assisted in re-launching as senior web editor. He also has served as a contributing editor for BuzzFeed UK in the past.

"So, some job news. Very sad to say I'm leaving @RoughGuides online," Chester first announced, later continuing, "but very excited to say I'm joining @mashable in the UK with @blathnaidhealy!"
