Question of the Day
Yesterday's question asked: What was the full name dictator and former journalist Mobutu Sese Seko adopted and its exact translation? Be sure to answer both parts, if you can manage to fit it into 140 characters! Whew, this was a tough and long one. That would be: Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga, which reportedly means "The warrior who knows no defeat because of his endurance and inflexible will and is all powerful, leaving fire in his wake as he goes from conquest to conquest." It was a name he gave himself!
Congratulations to Amy B Wang of The Arizona Republic for getting both parts exactly right! Now that's impressive. Very honorable mentions also go out to Marilyn Parel, Matthew Delman, Carrie Gray, Francis Hinchey and Ken Walker for bravely tackling this long-winded answer in one tweet (okay, or two)!
As for today's question, here it is, with thanks to frequent QOTD participant and former journalist Francis Hinchey for submitting it: With Secret Service protection trending lately on Capitol Hill, name the first President to get full protection by Secret Service! As a bonus, name the first President to get part-time protection, too!
