Featured journalist: Jeremy Binckes

We end our week by highlighting the diligent work of Jeremy Binckes, esteemed journalist with Yahoo News. The editor of Yahoo News Digest, Binckes is the man responsible for delivering headline news to your smartphone every morning. Before joining Yahoo, Binckes has worked at a number of other impressive digital newsrooms, as well, including leading some of the biggest journalism projects in the sports and news desks at Digital First Media's Project Thunderdome. To Binckes, being a journalist means "informing." He elaborates, "It means giving people what they need to know and what they want to know." You'll kick yourself if you don't check out some of his past bylines in his Muck Rack portfolio, starting with this look inside the Super Bowl ad factory or the backstory on how the Texas textbook revision came to be (which garnered an impressive 1,925 shares).

Remember: If you also want to be featured here, you should 1) set up your own journalist portfolio 2) get verified and 3) let us know by emailing Kirsten.
