Politico ups Hounshell to editorial director, digital amid newsroom changes

Oct 08, 2014

Lots of changes and tumult at Politico, but one of the biggest kernels of news: Blake Hounshell is promoted to editorial director for digital, effective immediately. Previously the deputy editor for Politico Magazine, Hounshell's advancement is just in time for a new website design that new editor Susan Glasser announced in nearly the same breath.

"It's true. I'm jacked," Hounshell shares on Twitter, linking to HuffPo's coverage on this news.

Vox content director Max Fisher jokes, "Congrats to praktike on his promotion to Politico anonymous-commenter-in-chief. Seriously, big ups @blakehounshell."

Washington Post's Carlos Lozada joins in, "Big congrats to @blakehounshell, new digital editorial director at @politico. But will he tweet more or less?"

As they say in that old, clichéed TV outro, "only time will tell."
