WaPo adds climate change reporter

The Washington Post welcomes Chris Mooney as a staff writer on the environment and climate change beat. For a start, Mooney will begin by contributing to Wonkblog, then eventually break off to launch a brand new blog with a climate focus. You'll recognize his name, by the way, from Mother Jones, where he most recently hosted a weekly environment podcast called Climate Desk.

"Thanks for all the tweets today! Thrilled to join the Post, and look fwd to working w/ the talented team over there," Mooney tweeted, sharing the WaPo job announcement.

"So sad to loose @chriscmooney but so psyched he's going on to this great new gig at WaPo," wistfully tweeted Mother Jones co-editor Clara Jeffery.
