Journalism job moves for Friday

Oct 10, 2014

It's been a heck of a week in the new jobs world, and here we'll end with a bang:

  • We're very happy for Lisa Desjardins, who just found a home at PBS NewsHour after CNN made the terrible decision to lay her off (prompting her very good-humored goodbye video). Read our complete write-up here.
  • Leigh Ann Caldwell jumped the CNN ship for NBC News, where she is now political reporter in its Washington bureau. Read our complete write-up here.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the industry:

  • Jordan Chariton will soon join TheWrap as New York media editor. You'll know him from Mediabistro, where he has been TVNewser's editor.
  • In the wake of Chariton's departure, Mark Joyella is now co-editor of both TVSpy and TVNewser at Mediabistro. Joyella was most recently a freelance writer there.
  • Brian Flood joins Joyella at Mediabistro as co-editor of TVNewser. Flood previously freelanced for Sports Illustrated.

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
