Moves under the BuzzFeed masthead

BuzzFeed just welcomed Sam Schlinkert as its newest associate social media editor. As deputy social media editor for The Daily Beast in the past, Schlinkert will likely bring plenty of expertise to the news vertical.

"First day at @BuzzFeed. Feels like camp in the best way," he tweeted.

And it looks like he's settling into his new newsroom just fine.

"I feel really sorry for @sts10 because, unlike my other seatmates, he has yet to adjust to the fact that I frequently laugh quite loudly," reporter Ellie Hall shared.

Meanwhile, media reporter Myles Tanzer is out at BuzzFeed, next destination unknown. He tweeted the news out of nowhere on Friday:

"Housekeeping: today was my last day at BuzzFeed. It’s been fun!"

"Wait what," responded The Daily Dot's Cooper Fleishman, adding, "when media reporters switch jobs, who reports on the media reporters."

Meanwhile, BuzzFeed's Dorsey Shaw did not seem pleased to lose his colleague, tweeting (and we quote) "nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope no."

... That's 25 nopes and one no, for those of you wondering. Safe to say, Tanzer will be missed.
