Daily Beast's Lake and Rogin head to ... ?

Eli Lake and Josh Rogin are leaving The Daily Beast, and while it's rumored they're bound for Bloomberg View, there's been no confirmation on that. For this revelation, all the hat tips in the world belong to Huffington Post media reporter Michael Calderone:

Daily Beast executive editor Noah Shachtman did not comment as to where Lake and Rogin are headed, but confirmed in an email to staff that they're leaving the site.

"We’re sad to be parting ways with Josh and Eli. They’re great reporters and great guys," Shachtman said. "But it makes sense for everyone involved. We wish them luck at their new gig."

Currently, Lake serves as senior national security reporter and Rogin serves as senior correspondent (in addition to contributing to CNN as a political analyst).

"Wow that’s a huge loss for @thedailybeast," Business Insider's Paul Szoldra reflects.

"When it's time to leave the belly of the beast, you just know," quips Betsy Rothstein with the Daily Caller.

Meanwhile, Mashable's Brian Ries concludes, "This further proves my theory that @joshrogin & @EliLake are the same person."
