CNN adds trio from Yahoo, Hill and WP

In a flurry of additions, CNN has snared Chris Moody of Yahoo NewsAlexandra Jaffe of The Hill and Jeff Simon of The Washington Post.

Previously a political reporter for Yahoo, now Moody joins CNN as senior digital correspondent. He's spending the interim between gigs in his home state, apparently kicking it with Burt Reynolds.

"Back home in Florida for a bit kicking it with old pals," Moody casually shared, tacking on this awesome photo.

"@CNN just hired away @YahooNews' @Moody, one of the best journos & humans D.C. has ever produced," Jeff Winkler announced.

Currently staff reporter at The Hill, Jaffe will assume the role of breaking news reporter later this month.

"Excited to join!" Jaffe tweeted in reply to the rush of congratulatory tweets.

"Congrats to @ajjaffe on her move (post-election, thank goodness!) to @CNN -- sad to lose her @thehill but happy for a great reporter!" campaign editor Jessica Taylor admits.

Formerly a producer for The Post, Simon returns once again to CNN as a video producer.

"This is it," Simon tweeted one final picture of his work building, although he soon followed that up with, "I congratulate my former employer, @washingtonpost, for so promptly shutting down my e-mail account." (Newsrooms are always prompt where that stuff's concerned.)

"He's Baaaack: @jjsimonCNN returns to @CNN, joining the original video team @CNNPolitics + hopefully making trouble w/ @PeterHambyCNN soon," Ed O'Keefe tweeted.
