We'll finish this week off right by featuring Kathleen McGrory, Miami Herald staff writer on the state government and politics beat. A graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, McGrory was named Florida's Young Journalist of the Year in 2008. First hired by the Herald in 2006, her first assignment was "chasing breaking news in Broward County before dawn." The coverage McGrory is most proud of: her coverage of Haiti's earthquake in 2010. Check out McGrory's Muck Rack portfolio for some of her latest bylines, including After 'Fangate,' Gov. Rick Scott shifts the conversation to Ebola (203 shares) and South Florida grudge match could shape state Senate (54 shares).
