WSJ poaches Politico's Byron Tau

The Politico era of Byron Tau is drawing to a close, as Tau prepares for a White House gig with the Wall Street Journal. Tau has been a reporter covering the White House, campaigns, and lobbying for the Rosslyn-based political outlet since 2010.

"Some personal news: After four years, Wednesday is my last day at @politico. Joining the @WSJ DC bureau next week," Tau announced yesterday.

"Congrats to @byrontau, one heck of a colleague and the first person to go out of his way to be nice to me @politico. Great get for @wsj!" NPR's Juana Summers acknowledges.

Later, however, Tau noticed something amiss: "It's not even my last day yet and someone already pillaged my name plate."

... we're sure someone just wanted a memento of your Politico legacy, Byron!
