The Verge adds tech culture reporter

The Verge will soon welcome tech journalist Micah Singleton to its ranks. Currently a senior writer with The Daily Dot, Singleton's last day at The Dot is Friday (today)--then next month it's on to Vox Media's technology news network, where he will be a reporter covering culture in and around the tech industry. Don't worry, though--he'll remain on the Google and Apple beats, an area in which he's done some of his best work.

"Tomorrow is my last day at the Daily Dot. I’ve had a blast working with an amazing group of people, and wish them nothing but the best," Singleton tweeted. "I’m thrilled to announce that I will be joining @Verge in December. Can’t wait to work with the best team in the business."

In an email, Singleton tells us, "Technology permeates nearly every facet of our lives these days. I will tell the stories of people affected by technology—both those who use it and those who help create and build it."

On Twitter, Andrew Kameka responds to the news by replying, "nice. prepare to be trolled worse than when I brought up Taylor for album of the year."

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
