WaPo welcomes fellow to Local Desk

Victoria St. Martin has officially started as a full-time reporter with The Washington Post's Manassas bureau. St. Martin first joined The Post’s Local Desk this summer as an American University’s School of Communication fellow. Before that fellowship, however, she spent three years reporting for The New Jersey Star Ledger in Newark, where she made her mark reporting from the frontlines of Superstorm Sandy, among other notable stories.

"So psyched that fellow @AmericanU alum @VStMartin has been hired full-time as a @postlocal reporter. Welcome aboard!" greeted WaPo congressional reporter Ed O'Keefe.

In the same vein, Spencer Ackerman with Guardian US tweeted, "Heart is warmed to see my old college newspaper buddy-then-boss @VStMartin with a byline on an NSA story."

"Thank you buddy!" St. Martin replied.
