Journalism job moves for Monday

Some top career moves for today:

  • The New York Times promotes Paul Werdel (pictured at right) to senior editor of platforms. Werdel was most recently assistant editor, digital platforms, there.
  • Meanwhile, Charles Homans (far right) will join The New York Times Magazine on Nov. 24 as a digital deputy. Homans hails from The Atavist, where he is executive editor.
  • Ed Hammond will soon join Bloomberg News as a deals reporter. Hammond is currently a U.S. deals correspondent for the Financial Times.
  • Gerry Smith will also join Bloomberg News as media reporter. Smith is currently a technology reporter for The Huffington Post.
