CNN just created a new position, too: seasoned pro Laura Bernardini will soon be the network's first DC Director of News Coverage. Presently the supervising producer for its White House unit, in her next role Bernardini will take charge of the city's assignment desk, network pool responsibilities and bureau field resources.
