NYT creates, names first growth editor
In an ongoing effort to "grow" its audience and mobile engagement, The New York Times has invented a new role: that of growth editor, features, and Simone S. Oliver is the first. Previously an online editor with NYT's fashion department, Oliver now joins the Times' Audience Development team, where she'll partner with the features department on social and mobile strategy while also collaborating with the photo desk on how to leverage visual platforms like Instagram and Pinterest.
