Yahoo snares new head of engagement

Nov 17, 2014

Yahoo has snapped up Alex Leo and named her head of audience development. Most recently director of product for Newsweek and The International Business Times, the journalist-turned-product-specialist is already hard at work in her new role.

"I just performed my first sneeze @Yahoo & now everyone thinks I'm crazy/diseased," Leo joked on Twitter, adding the hashtag #LoudestSneezerEver for further clarification.

Sneezes aside, it's clear Leo's appointment has made considerable waves on Twitter.

"BIG news. Congrats to my dear friend @AlexMLeo who joins @Yahoo as head of audience development," tweeted Circa's Anthony De Rosa.

Even the NYT Fridge account got in on it: "And so thrilled for the wonderful, talented @AlexMLeo, @Yahoo's Head of Audience Development. Well done and congratulations!"
