Question of the Day
Yesterday's question asked: What did actress Angelina Jolie say when she presented actor Jack O'Connell with an award this week? That would be "'ay up me duck," a greeting "typically used in the North of England and the Midlands" instead of hello; O'Connell happens to be from Derby.
Congratulations for a third time to Ken Walker of the Tampa Bay Times for being the very first to answer that correctly! Honorable mentions also go out to Jeanne Kirk, Craig Pittman, Ron Casalotti (who suggests that maybe it translates to "I'd like to wear a vial of your blood around my neck"), Carrie Gray (who notes it "rhymes with what the...?"), Hiram Reisner, Amy Zipkin, Annie M. Dance, Francis Hinchey and Jane Wardell (who adds it's "debatable if anybody in Derby actually says that").
As for today's question, here it is, with thanks to Francis Hinchey for submitting it in honor of legendary movie director Mike Nichols, who has died at 83: Nichols was one of a handful of artists whose body of work earned an exclusive honor. What was this unique bragging right?
