BuzzFeed UK recruits two more

BuzzFeed UK is dipping into the wells of legacy media once again, now adding The Telegraph's Robert Colvile and The Sun's Emily Ashton. Currently a columnist and comment editor for the Telegraph, Colvile will be BuzzFeed's UK news director. Meanwhile, Ashton--currently Whitehall correspondent at The Sun--will join as senior political correspondent with a focus on Westminster.

"So a) am joining @BuzzFeedUK after 10 fab yrs at @Telegraph and b) yes, I once wore a shorts suit on national and international television," Colvile quips on Twitter.

"Delighted to announce I'll be joining the BuzzFeed UK political team in the new year. Sad to be leaving The Sun but exciting times ahead," Ashton chimes in.

EIC Ben Smith crows, "Thrilled we've persuaded @rcolvile & @elashton to join @buzzfeeduk with elections approaching."
