Poynter's Beaujon joins Washingtonian

Poynter news editor and everyone's favorite media blogger Andrew Beaujon is off to the Washingtonian. Starting in mid-December as a senior editor for the D.C. magazine, Beaujon will focus on local news and the Washingtonian's digital strategy. But not to worry--we hear tell Beaujon will still offer occasional analysis on the media.

"I’m so grateful Poynter gave a shot to a yokel like me. I have loved working here," Beaujon shared last week.

Poynter fellow Sam Kirkland responds to the news, "I'm so lucky to have worked with and learned from @abeaujon for a year. Congrats to you and folks at @washingtonian!!

"Yes, Andrew is leaving me. I tried to fight for us, but he just gave up," Craig Silverman forlornly adds.

"If it’s cool I’ll still harass you on this platform," Beaujon responds. A thoughtful parting promise, if ever we read one!

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
