Deadspin EIC named Gawker exec editor

Dec 12, 2014

Gawker has moved up Deadspin’s editor-in-chief Tommy Craggs in a big way, naming him executive editor over all eight of their flagship titles. Evidently the recent reshuffle was triggered by a conversation about Gamergate, of all things.

"Big shake-ups at Gawker, in a good way. The much-admired @tcraggs22 ascends," tweets The Daily Briefing's Dan Diamond.

Craggs hasn't tweeted anything about the big promotion--then again, he hasn't tweeted much of anything in several months. Perhaps that will change with the job? As Deadspin's Daniel Roberts notes, "sending @tcraggs22 congratulations by Twitter is like Doc sending Marty a Western Union in 1955. I mean, it may get there?"

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
