Featured journalists: Bridie Jabour and Katharine Murphy

Today we would like to take time to recognize Bridie Jabour and Katharine Murphy, the Guardian Australia journalists who have been tirelessly liveblogging the hostage crisis in Sydney. Jabour is a reporter while Murphy serves as deputy political editor for the Guardian's Sydney-based online presence. Jabour previously covered breaking news, property and business for the Brisbane Times. Meanwhile, Murphy has been reporting on federal politics for more than a decade and won the Paul Lyneham Award in 2008 for excellence in press gallery journalism and was named a Walkley Award finalist in the best digital journalism category in 2012. We appreciate the work both journalists are doing as this important Sydney story develops. Be sure to check out more of Jabour's work here as well as Murphy's here.

Remember: If you also want to be featured here, you should 1) set up your own journalist portfolio 2) get verified and 3) let us know by emailing Kirsten.
