Fox's Jana Winter heads to The Intercept

The Fox News journalist who refused to reveal her confidential sources to authorities has now joined The Intercept at First Look Media. Previously an investigative reporter at Fox who faced jail time for defending her principles until the courts ruled in her favor, Jana Winter's next role is DC-based national security reporter.

"Welcome to @the_intercept: our new national security reporter, the very intrepid journalist @janawinter!!!" greets Glenn Greenwald.

"One day I'll work w/ @janawinter and we’ll do some damage together. Til then, she’s a great hire for @the_intercept," reflects former EIC John Cook, who recently returned to Gawker.

"Thanks for the office, awkwardness," Winter teased in response.
