NYT Labs' Maher boards BBC London

New York TimesJacqui Maher will pack her bags next month for a gig at BBC News World Service in London. Maher first made waves when she became NYT Interactive's first female hire and has since made her mark on the publication first as an assistant editor on the interactive team and then as a research engineer with their R&D department.

"Some personal news: after an amazing 5+ years @nytimes, I'm leaving to join the BBC in London next month!" Maher announces.

Sid Acker with the International New York Times laments, "Hey, there was nothing in the innovation report about losing our top geek! :( (hug) Congratulations! Raaar!!!! ALL!"

The move earned the nod from Mashable's Jim Roberts, who retweeted and added, simply, "Big."
