BBC World adds Ikenna Azuike on Africa

Jan 05, 2015

BBC World is beefing up its focus on Africa by annexing Ikenna Azuike, creator and presenter behind the satirical news show "What's Up Africa." Starting next week, Azuike will present his popular vlog during the BBC program Focus on Africa every Friday.

"Congratulations @Azuike on the @BBCAfrica gig! Richly deserved!" concludes The Daily Vox's Khadija Patel.

Andrew Ihsaan Gasnolar adds, "accidentally caught this over the weekend and definitely richly deserved and necessary dialogue!!"

For a taste of what Azuike's creation covers, just check out this summary of a recent edition by Guardian's Ian Birrell: "What's Up Africa? @Azuike targets Nigerian government, a UK foreign minister & AU in his satirical look back at 2014."

Azuike replies, "now this is a tweet to favourite, Mr Birrell. Lol. Thank u for sharing."
