CNBC's new SF bureau gets a chief

CNBC's Mary Catherine Wellons has been named bureau chief of the network's brand new bureau in San Francisco. Currently their inaugural Director of Social Media, in her next role Wellons will manage their Northern California coverage while frequently collaborating with Re/code

"Next stop: San Francisco! Excited to share that I'm headed West to run @CNBC's new SF Bureau at #OneMarket. Can't wait to get started," she tweets, adding, "Huge thanks to @EliLanger @StefASmith @SteveKopack & @EricWilkens for all that we've accomplished on the @CNBCSocial team. You're the best."

At NBC, Lou Dubois chimes in, "Congrats Twitter is overrated, but very excited for this big move by the inimitable @mcwellons."
