VICE Canada anoints managing editor

Josh Visser will soon be joining VICE Canada as managing editor. Visser joins Vice from National Post, where he was most recently senior digital reporter.

He began on Twitter, "Canadaland hasn't called me fat (yet) but I can now say that I am moving to @vicecanada as managing editor next month. ... Really looking forward to working with @patrickmcguire's team and regaling @vicecanada's office with tales about being born in the 80s ... But before I turn hip and jaded, I have a few earnest words about working at the @nationalpost, which has been the best job I've had. ... Really must thank @ByJamesMartin for hiring me 3 years ago and being an awesome boss before he ran back to England. ... The team here at the Post (who are too many to name check) have been great colleagues and hopefully they will still have me on Twitter."

Then: "Should have Twitter essayed that. Sorry, done now."

National Post's Erin Valois reacts, "Congratulations to @joshvisser, who will make a fine managing editor at VICE. And has forced our "cool" quota on the desk to take a hit."

Columnist Scott Stinson jokes, "/unfollow."

But Motherboard editor Matthew Braga looks excited: "hey guys GUYS look at @joshvisser who is coming to work with me at VICE as managing editor of ~~~ news ~~~."
