Inside Edition adds to history in hiring transgender TV reporter Zoey Tur

Feb 03, 2015

Zoey Tur is now a special correspondent for the month of February at Inside Edition, making her only the second openly transgender TV reporter on mainstream TV since Colorado Public Television's Eden Lane, who is widely considered the first. Tur is charged with covering both hard news and entertainment for the CBS program. A pioneer in helicopter newsgathering once known as "Chopper Bob," Tur is already a Los Angeles icon after covering the L.A. riots as well as O.J. Simpson’s police pursuit.

"Welcome to the team @ZoeyTur," greets chief investigative correspondent Lisa Guerrero.

Meanwhile, Lane tweets in response, "Yes everyone, I did see it. I say congratulations @ZoeyTur: Meet the first transgender TV reporter in America-Zoey Tur/CBS @InsideEdition."

Tur replies, "you always will be the first talkshow host. I think you out rank me."

Don’t forget - if you change your job in journalism or move to a different news organization, be sure to email Kirsten (kirsten [at] sawhorsemedia [dot] com) so we can reflect your new title. News job changes only, please! Thanks!
