AP appoints Deep South correspondent

Feb 05, 2015

Did you know the Associated Press even has a correspondent for the Deep South? Well, they do, and now it's Rebecca Santana. It should be a big change in beat for Santana, who is wrapping up as acting bureau chief in Pakistan.

"Look out, #NewOrleans. My pal and star colleague @ruskygal has just been named @AP correspondent for Deep South," announces Dubai bureau chief Adam Schreck.

"Congratulations @ruskygal! we will be sorry to see you and Max leave Islamabad. Best of luck," tweets Faiysal AliKhan with the New America Foundation.

"Congratulations to @ruskygal on the new assignment. Another Af-Pak correspondent heading to the US," notes ABC News foreign correspondent Muhammad Lila.
