Masthead shuffle over at The Hill

The Hill's staff saw several changes in beats and jobs this week: Elise Viebeck helps expand their cyber beat as a newly minted cybersecurity reporter while Elliot Smilowitz joins the publication as web editor, replacing Rachel Huggins who recently left for Vox.

First, Viebeck's promotion means leaving behind her position as The Hill's healthcare reporter.

"There comes a time in every healthcare reporter's life when we ask ourselves: can I write another ObamaCare repeal story?" she begins on Twitter, then concludes, "The answer for me was no. Excited to join @Cory_Bennett on The Hill's cybersecurity beat, where I'll be teasing trends out of hacking news."

Meanwhile, Smilowitz is a new recruit to The Hill from The Washington Examiner, where he is wrapping up as senior web producer.

"John Stewart leaving, Brian Williams suspended, me to @TheHill. It's like they always say, media news comes in threes," he jokes via tweet.

In the wake of those changes, Peter Sullivan replaces Viebeck as health reporter, previously having been responsible for their Monday issue while also working on the Briefing Room. Correspondingly, Ben Kamisar takes Sullivan's place on the Briefing Room.
