Other musings from the media

Feb 25, 2015

In an essay for Medium, Associated Press Standards Editor Thomas Kent suggests an ethical checklist for robot journalism (100+ shares). "Good advice from @AP's standards guru on a tricky new area," praises colleague Eric Carvin. In France, the rift among Charlie Hebdo staff grows as they grapple how to use global attention's resulting windfall. A powerful quote: "How can you make this kind of decision when you’re still having nightmares at night?" Also in media, introducing Slate's podcast network Panoply Media. "I secretly hoped @slate's new podcast network would be named Big Audio Dynamite, but Panoply will do," relents Slate's Jonathan L. Fischer.

Bonus: this might be the best reason ever to have an "unattributable" source. Also, is this the most New York Times-y tweet, ever?
