FiveThirtyEight brings in NYT's Firestone

Mar 09, 2015

Veteran New York Times journalist David Firestone will join FiveThirtyEight later this month as managing editor. Firestone most recently served on NYT's editorial board as the board’s projects editor.

"Delighted to announce that I’m joining FiveThirtyEight as managing editor, working w/ Nate Silver and his terrific crew at ESPN. Can’t wait," he tweets.

"David's done incredible work as a reporter & editor at the NYT. He'll help 538 keep growing and improving," praises EIC Nate Silver.

"Oh I have a new managing editor," realizes 538 forecaster Harry Enten, before playfully adding, "I wonder if thinks the GFS or Euro is right for Saturday?"

"That depends on what they're predicting for central Brooklyn," Firestone responds.
