ProPublica race reporter joins NYT Mag

Apr 01, 2015

Nikole Hannah-Jones is linking up with New York Times Magazine, where she'll be a staff writer. Hannah-Jones currently spearheads ProPublica's race beat as their Civil Rights reporter.

"Im ecstatic to be joining @NYTmag, but so very sad to leave my home of last 3 years, @ProPublica. Bar none, it's the best job I've ever had," she shares on Twitter, later adding, "And my @ProPublica colleagues are without match. They are simply the kindest, most supportive, hardest-working, smartest people I know."

At NYT Mag, EIC Jake Silverstein announces, "Big news: I'm totally thrilled to announce that the brilliant and tenacious @nhannahjones is joining @NYTmag as a staff writer."

Staff writer Jenna Wortham responds to the news, "Squad going UP on a Tuesday!!!"
