NYT journo named Climate Central editor

Climate Central welcomes former New York Times journalist Craig Hunter as editor, endowed with all the powers of editorial oversight and day-to-day newsroom management that title entails. Before leaving the Times in December, Hunter served as deputy editor there, directing coverage of the television and advertising industries. His position prior to that, however, should perfectly equip him for his new job: as the Times' assistant science editor, he helped to create their daily science report and spearheaded coverage of spaceflight, physics and astronomy.

Digital media director Geoff Grant tweets they are "happy to officially welcome @chunterct to @ClimateCentral and as our new editor to our team of journos in NYC."

At InsideClimate News, editor Lynn Zinser responds to the news "Congrats to Craig Hunter. And a great hire!"
