WaPo China reporter takes national beat

Joining the publication's brand new America desk, the Washington Post's William Wan will soon return to the States as a "roving national correspondent." Currently their China correspondent, starting this summer Wan is slated to "approach the homeland much like a foreign posting, tackling breaking news as well as deeply-reported stories about America in the time of Obama."

"Hugely exciting: @thewanreport comes home to join TEAM AMERICA (yep, that's still the name) as a roaming national correspondent," announces colleague Mark Berman.

Clearly this "Team America" monniker really is catching on, as WaPo's Wesley Lowery also chimes in, "#FF @thewanreport, who joins WaPo Team America as a roaming national correspondent."

We will miss Wan's coverage in China, however--especially his latest on "Enduring Brother," that amorous panda that's breaking mating records (which got 2,700+ shares) ... or as journalist Louisa Lim called it, "panda porn."
