NPR expands Code Switch team

NPR has added Adrian Florido to its "Code Switch" race relations team. Florido joins from member station KPCC in Southern California, where he is wrapping up as a reporter and a fill-in host for the daily program Take Two.

"The news got a little ahead of me, but excited to share I’m joining NPR as a reporter on the @NPRCodeSwitch team!" he tweets.

Florido's past reports have focused on the US-Mexico border, immigrant and tribal communities, demographics and culture.

"Felicidades @adrianflorido ! The newest member of @NPRCodeSwitch I am overjoyed! Pa'lante siempre pa'lante!!!" reacts NPR's race, ethnicity and culture reporter Shereen Marisol Meraji.

"Hey @adrianflorido welcome to NPR! Come by @MorningEdition and say hi. We're the ones with the dark circles around our eyes," greets supervising editor Jacob Conrad.

Florido responds, "I'll fit right in. (I listen live in LA)."
