Question of the day

Our last question asked: Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer who has "brought life to Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch for the last 46 years," recently did an AMA on Reddit. What did he count as his most meaningful interaction with a child during that time?  In character as Big Bird, he phoned a young, terminally ill child to cheer him up, after which his father later told Spinney was the first time he had seen his boy smile in months. The boy reportedly passed away moments later.

Our compliments to Craig Pittman of the Tampa Bay Times for being the first to answer that correctly. Honorable mentions belong to David Daniel (who called it a "gut-punch story"), Marilyn Parel, Ken Walker, Ron Tillotso, Jessica M. Pasko and Hollywood Highlands for all getting that right, as well.
As for today's question, here it is: What once frequently invoked term does the New York Times indicate is "fading"  from use on the campaign trail?
