New York Times nets Tim Herrera

Washington Post social media producer Tim Herrera is coming home to New York, newly snapped up by the New York Times only a year after joining the Post's ranks. Did we say New York Times? More like New York Tims, now, right? His last day as a Postie will be May 27.

"Why I'm Coming Back To New York," Herrera tweets by way of announcement. Nope, there's no link, but that's why we love him.

BuzzFeed's Alix McAlpine declares, "celebrating your return with an old fashioned milk bath."

Credited as the creative genius driving “several buzzy stories” for the Post, Herrera also made his mark on their legacy by exploring new internal tools (such as their photo submission platform) and ventures with outside vendors.

Becca Laurie teasingly responds, "congrats on several buzzy stories!!!!!"

Herrera departs for the Times at the same time as social media producer Michael Gold, whom we also wrote about here.

At the Post, J. duLac reacts, "Inbox: 'We are sad to announce that @migold and @TimHerrera will be leaving us to join The New York Times.' (Related: Pox on @bankonjustin)."
