Guardian US gets a new EIC

Lee Glendinning is the newly anointed editor-in-chief of Guardian US. Most recently the deputy editor there, Glendinning has been with the Guardian since 2006, even helping to launch Guardian Australia.

"Delighted that the superb @lee_glend has agreed to be editor of @GuardianUS!" tweets Katharine Viner, who just started today as the editor-in-chief of the Guardian overall.

"Congratulations to the brilliant @lee_glend, named today as the new editor-in-chief of @GuardianUS. Top job for a super editor," reflects Washington correspondent Paul Lewis.

"A milestone: with @lee_glend's very deserved elevation to @GuardianUS editor, all @guardian editions are edited by women," realizes U.S. national security editor Spencer Ackerman.

Wonder if any other publications will follow suit?
