In tech and talk

Taylor Swift is on a crusade for the little guy once again, and this time she is gloriously triumphant: just hours after posting to Tumblr that she would not be allowing her album to stream on Apple Music until all artists were compensated during its three-month free trial period, Apple buckled and agreed to backtrack on that idea. "Dear @taylorswift13: please fix immigration, racial strife, Middle East and crappy Apple Lightning cables next, plz," pleads Omar Gallaga with the Austin American-Statesman. Meanwhile, the NY Times posits that without social media, the truth about Brian Williams' checkered storytelling past would never have come to light. "Soldiers who blew the whistle on Brian Williams had tried to take action before. But there was no social media then," shares journalist Jay Rosen.
