Defense News reporter joins CQ

John T. Bennett has just joined CQ Roll Call as CQ budget tracker. Recently having departed Defense News where he served as a senior Congressional reporter, Bennett was credited there with launching the CongressWatch web channel on the budget beat.

"Today is my last at Defense News. Here's my final column: Signing Off With Thoughts of Ike," he recently tweeted.

"Will very much miss @BennettJohnT as a teammate on the Hill. Now vowing revenge on his new employer for poaching him," admits Leo Shane III with the Military Times.

At Defense News, Israeli bureau chief Barbara Opall-Rome reacts, "best wishes from the Holy Land. You provided absolute added value to DFN, as I'm sure you'll continue to do at next gig."

Bennett responds, "Thanks, BOR. I'll miss the whole DN team. We'll always have those awkward 9 minutes & 43 seconds with .@RandPaul."
