Featured journalist: Nomia Iqbal

Wednesday's Muck Rack spotlight falls on BBC's Nomia Iqbal, a multimedia reporter, presenter and editor at Radio 1 and 1xtra Newsbeat. Iqbal is also an output editor for online and on air content. Recently Iqbal served as TV and Radio correspondent for the BBC's General Election 2015 coverage and has also occasionally reported on the BBC News TV channel as well as presented shows on Radio 5 Live. Prior to joining the Beebs, Iqbal was a reporter for commercial radio such as Hallam FM, Juice FM XFM, Silk FM and local BBC stations. The best time to pitch her is: "Not in the morning! And probably over a drink." We hear you on that! As for the biggest misconception about her beat, she says, "That it's glamorous. Deadlines and pressure to get things accurate and in on time, is hard work." For samples of Iqbal's hard work, stop by her Muck Rack portfolio and check out her bylines, starting with her recent post on the Iran nuclear deal and why it's important (shares here).
