Journo job moves for Thursday

Your career highlight this morning:

  • NPR's esteemed Edith Chapin (at right) goes from acting executive editor to executive editor there, officially. Read all about it here.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the industry:

  • McClatchy national security correspondent Jonathan Landay departs for Reuters to cover (what else?) national security. You'll know Landay for his work as part of the reporting team "credited with the most skeptical coverage" of the Bush administration's war in Iraq.
  • Sad news: Washington Post columnist Al Kamen has announced his retirement after 35 years of excellent column-writing. Kamen first joined the paper in 1980 and his last column will appear on Oct. 9.
  • Erin Dresch is now a markets segment producer at Bloomberg TV. Dresch joins from NY1 News, where she acted as a business unit lead producer.
