NPR anoints Edith Chapin executive editor

NPR's Edith Chapin will officially don the mantle of executive editor there. Most recently acting executive editor and previously senior international editor, Chapin succeeds Madhulika Sikka, who recently departed for Mic this past summer.

"Congrats to the awesome @EdithChapin -- new executive editor of @NPR. The woman has news in her bloodstream," reacts Marketplace's Lizzie O'Leary.

"Wow what a compliment. Thanks," Chapin replies.

"The amazing @EdithChapin named Exec Editor at @npr. If listeners knew her they too would cheer," predicts CNN contributor Frida Ghitis.
