Greg Emerson departs Newsday for WSJ

Greg Emerson has joined the Wall Street Journal's mobile team as Mobile Project Manager. Emerson will work with developers, editors and audience development team to help manage the priority list and roadmap across WSJ's mobile apps and will report to Executive Mobile Editor David Ho.

Emerson most recently served as deputy editor of emerging technologies at Newsday, where he led the launch of a suite of new apps for Newsday and amNewYork and oversaw digital projects.

"It’s my last day @Newsday. Sharing this overly dramatic gif for @APBottan," he tweeted last week. Emerson also went on to share everything he would miss about Newsday, from this pic of Jimmy Breslin's foot to their hallway of Pulitzer prizes.

News editor Anthony Bottan replies, "I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright..."
