Featured journalist: Abigail Edge

We'd like to start off the week by highlighting the work of Abigail Edge, editorial and community manager for Shorthand. Covering news, media, travel and technology, Edge has written for Journalism.co.uk, The Next Web, TheMediaBriefing and the Guardian. Before moving to the States, she was technology editor at Journalism.co.uk. Prior to that, she served as digital editor on UK regional news titles The Express & Star and The Bristol Post. Edge also organized "Hacks/Hackers Colorado," a regular meet-up for journalists and technologists, and is a member of the Online News Association. She studied journalism at City University, London, after being awarded the Guardian’s Scott Trust Bursary. Check out her Muck Rack portfolio here for samplings of her work; we especially recommend you check out her podcasts on what attention time means for journalists and why female journalists are at risk for online abuse.

Remember: If you also want to be featured here, you should 1) set up your own journalist portfolio 2) get verified and 3) let us know by emailing Kirsten.
