After completing five years as a staff writer for Star magazine, Johnson became LA correspondent for Soap World and then, for five more years a bi-weekly contributor to TV SOAP, the largest daytime magazine in Australia. Following freelance red carpet coverage for Life&Style Weekly, she returned to Star magazine in 2006 as a freelance red carpet reporter, where she covered movie premieres, award shows, press junkets and other events.
