Guardian adds to west coast bureau

The Guardian soon welcomes a slew of new reporters to its brand new San Francisco bureau: Sam LevinNellie BowlesJulia Carrie Wong and Danny Yadron all join in various roles, which will soon become clear.

Levin (closest, at left) is one of the newest, hailing from the East Bay Express where he was a senior writer.

"Finished fact checking my final @EastBayExpress cover story and feeling all sentimental," Levin shares.

Meanwhile, Bowles (top, far right) most recently contributed to The California Sunday Magazine while also writing a book for Hachette and crafting a TV show based on one of her stories for 20th Century Fox.

"Oh hey! I'm joining the @GuardianUS! With the brilliant @dannyyadron and @juliacarriew. WATCH OUT," Bowles warns.

Simultaneously, Wong (bottom left) comes from SF Weekly, where she has just wrapped up as a news and politics staff writer.

"Hey y'all I'm going to be joining @NellieBowles and @dannyyadron as a tech reporter for @GuardianUS in January!" she tweets.

Re/code's Peter Kafka quips in reply, "no medium post, no new job. Sorry, I don't make the rules."

Last but not least, Yadron joins from the Wall Street Journal, where he is a cybersecurity reporter based in San Francisco.

"Critical update: Next month I'll join @NellieBowles and @juliacarriew to help open an SF buro for @guardian. Trouble TK," he predicts.
