WSJ's Wong returns to AP

The Associated Press soon welcomes Gillian Wong back into the fold as greater China news director. Most recently covering technology for the Wall Street Journal, in her new role Wong will lead China's coverage in video, text and photos, including everything from the mainland to Taiwan to Hong Kong. Wong has spent more than a decade reporting on China and elsewhere in Asia and will be based in Beijing.

"The announcement that made my day today. So thrilled to have @gillianwong back," shares tech/biz writer Youkyung Lee, who is based in Seoul.

"The much respected Gillian Wong @gillianwong is making a welcome return to @AP as news director for Greater China," chimes in Asia business editor Stephen Wright from Bangkok.
